  • 6 manual table knitting machines and 1 industrial manual knitting machine worth USD 3,250 with capacity of training 30 youths per annum have These Machines have been procured and now in use.
  • Youths have been acquired technical skill in sweater knitting and are employed by our Organization to manufacture sweaters for schools who have fixed their orders with our organization. They also train other youths in sweater knitting.
  • The project is generating income for self sustenance through supplying sweaters to schools and institutions. Our organization is able to replenish training materials for training more youths especially school drop-outs in sweater knitting.

USD 715

The initiative is committed to overcome the above challenges in order to train 300 vulnerable and school drop-outs in 2 years.

Future plans are; -

  • To acquire 5 acres of land in for both technical skill training institute and sweater knitting industry.
  • To roll out technical skill empowerment to youths and other vulnerable groups in Uganda and in other areas of operations.

Problem statement

Uganda is dominated by youth who are unemployed or underemployed. They spend most of their time gambling or doing less productive work for their survival. These are the youth who need our urgent help.

Many engage in criminal activities to earn a living. However, majority have fear of the poor social-economic life style after abandoning their previous dubious source of income. Worse still, some are abandoned by their family members and are regarded as social evils.

Because of this, it becomes very difficult for youth to live a contructive crime free life and those who have done so may not remain committed to their God because of the social-economic problems.

In view of the above, we have come up with a program of technical skill empowerment of youths and other vulnerable groups for social economic transformation for self sustenance and remain committed faithfuls to God.

Vocational &Technical Skills Development Project

This project has contributed to building Uganda’s human capital skills development capacity, particularly in education, agriculture and vocational and technical skills. This venture has creating and responded to labor market demands and propelled productivity nationally in Uganda.

The project objectives are to fight alerming levels of unemployment among young people, improve equitable access, quality and relevance of skills training and research that has led to job creation and self-employment. This is a life changing venture!

Ugandan President - Gen. Yoweri Museveni, during his latest “State of Nation Address” said that “…only 300,000 people are employed by Uganda government out of nearly 40 million people in Uganda and we do not have any vacancies anywhere in government offices. I strongly advise young people to create jobs instead of looking for employment…” President Museveni said.

UNICEF recent report indicated that 68% of Ugandans are totally unemployed and living in abject poverty. The ABA Foundation conducted a research on how to fight the alarming levels of unemployment and poverty among Ugandan youths and we carried out a training needs appraisal in which young adults including University graduates, school drop-outs, single mothers, widows, and other vulnerable groups opted for vocational and technical skills development project.

The provision of Vocational and Technical Skills (tailoring and garment cutting, secretarial, painting, art and design, agriculture, brick laying, carpentry and joinery etc) to young adults in Uganda has not only catered for self–sustenance, but also employment which has enabled them to generate income and fight household poverty. Our biggest problem at the moment is that we are operating under meager financial envelope amidst a lot of social responsibility!

This initiative marked the beginning of what has become a fruitful and rewarding linkage between the world of industry and academia. We have strongly contributed to the development of a relevant and highly skilled workforce that has propelled productivity and national development. We shall continue to emphasize the need for a strengthened linkage with industries in order to have our skilled graduates, who are very productive so that Uganda continues to benefits from the East African Community integration.

Recent research by Human Rights Watch indicated that 89% of Refugees and People staying in Internally Displaced Peoples Camps engage in prostitution which has led to an increase in HIV / AIDS scourge. These Technical and Vocational Training Centers are meant to fight the risky behavior, empower them to fight house hold Poverty and Combat the spread of HIV / AIDS.

We empower Women, Youth, Children, Widows, Refugees, and Disabled through Training programs and Capacity building. We run a Home Care Bay and Rehabilitation Centers for orphans and destitute children especially those running away from the civil war in the volatile world’s newest nation of South Sudan.

We raise Awareness in the Communities against HIV / AIDS and other Killer Diseases. We also promote Awareness among Communities by running Development Programs to Fight House Hold Poverty and Promotion of Income Generation at Homestead Level.

To strengthen and equip God’s people with the word of God, and to encourage their involvement in fighting house hold poverty and world evangelism by:

  • Providing Bible Courses and literature, media, leadership training, Socio-Economic development through raising awareness and intercessory prayers;
  • Preparing the Body of Christ living in threatened or unstable areas to face persecution and suffering; and to support them in time of need.
  • Educating and mobilizing God's people living in the free world to identify with threatened and persecuted Christians and be actively involved in assisting them.
  • Helping destitute children, orphans, widows, refugees, widowers, disabled, disadvantaged, down-trodden, outcast, and unwanted people. James 1:27.

We do so because we believe when one member suffers, all members suffer with it (1 Corinthians 12:26), all doors are open and we strongly believe God will accomplish the objectives of ABA Foundation.

ABA Foundation is a Non Governmental Organization registered under the Laws of Uganda. ABA Foundation is validated by an "Apostille" based on The Hague Convention held on 5th October 1961, (Certificates issued by one country can be officially legalized in other countries).

The objectives of ABA Foundation is Helping People Live Better Life and to Promote the Socio - Economic Welfare of the local Communities especially the Destitute Children, Orphans, Youth, Elderly, Widows, Immigrants, Widowers, Migrants, Refugees, Disabled, Disaster Affected People and Poor Families affected by HIV / AIDS among others.

Uganda is a country slightly smaller than the State of Oregon, USA and is home to more than 45 million people. Uganda has been through several Humanitarian Crisis including Civil Wars, Food Crisis, Floods, Refugee influx, Persistent Droughts, Human Trafficking, HIV/AIDS Pandemic,SARS, Ebola, Corona Virus (Covid-19) etc. This has left the People in Uganda in Great Need of Resources, including Medical Resources to help with the Major effects these Crises have had on the overall Health of the Nation.

We equip the Vulnerable Groups with Technical Vocational Training Skills to enable them earn a living. Recent research indicated that 75% of Refugees and People staying in Tent Cities or Internally Displaced People's Camps engage in prostitution which has led to an increase in HIV / AIDS scourge in the Country. The Technical Vocational Training Centers are meant to Empower them, Fight Poverty and Combat the spread of HIV / AIDS.

We empower Women, Children, Youth, Widow, Migrants, Widowers,Immigrants, Refugees, Disabled and Elderly through Capacity building and Income Generating Projects for Self-sustainability.  We run Children Villages, Bible Schools,Community Radios, Vocational Secondary Schools, Home Care Bay and Rehabilitation Centers. We do Training, Counseling, Teaching, and Missionary Work among others.

VOLUNTEERS CHANGING THEIR WORLD FOR BETTER:

ABA Foundation – Volunteers are making a difference in some of the world’s poorest communities, living and working alongside local people on projects of lasting value. Volunteers join us at different stages of their lives and with different passions. Yet they all want a challenge and they are united by their determination to make a difference. Typically, they walk away with a broad set of skills that help them to make progress in their personal and professional lives and carry on making a positive contribution to the causes they really care about.

These skills include the ability to negotiate, to motivate, to listen and learn from other cultures, to plan and manage budgets – and so much more. Half the world is under 25. We know that with the right opportunity, young people have huge potential to make an impact in their communities. With ABA Foundation, you can be part of this experience too – and show yourself and others what you’re made of.

Thank you for visiting our website!

WE BELIEVE ... THE SCRIPTURES- THE BIBLE IS THE INSPIRED WORD OF GOD, THE PRODUCT OF HOLY MEN OF OLD WHO SPOKE AND WROTE AS THEY WERE MOVED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT. THE NEW COVENANT, AS RECORDED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT, WE ACCEPT AS OUR INFALLIBLE GUIDE IN MATTERS PERTAINING TO CONDUCT AND DOCTRINE

(2 TIM. 3:16; 2 PETER 1:21; 1 THESS 2:13)

WE BELIEVE... THE GODHEAD- OUR GOD IS ONE, BUT MANIFESTED IN THREE PERSONS- THE FATHER, THE SON, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT, BEING COEQUAL (PHIL. 2:6). GOD THE FATHER IS GREATER THAN ALL; THE SENDER OF THE WORD (LOGOS) AND THE BEGETTER (JOHN 14:28; JOHN 16:28; JOHN 1:14). THE SON IS THE WORD FLESH-COVERED, THE ONE BEGOTTEN, AND HAS EXISTED WITH THE FATHER FROM THE BEGINNING (JOHN 1:1, JOHN 1:18, JOHN 1:14). THE HOLY SPIRIT PROCEEDS FORTH FROM BOTH THE FATHER AND THE SON AND IS ETERNAL (JOHN 15:26).

WE BELIEVE... MAN, HIS FALL, AND REDEMPTION- MAN IS A CREATED BEING, MADE IN THE LIKENESS AND IMAGE OF GOD, BUT THROUGH ADAM'S TRANSGRESSION AND FALL, SIN CAME INTO THE WORLD. “FOR ALL HAVE SINNED, AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD.” “AS IT IS WRITTEN, THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NO NOT ONE.” JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD, WAS MANIFESTED TO UNDO THE WORK OF THE DEVIL AND GAVE HIS LIFE AND SHED HIS BLOOD TO REDEEM AND RESTORE MAN BACK TO GOD (ROM. 5 :14 ; ROM. 3:23 ; ROM. 3:10 ; I JOHN 3:8).

SALVATION IS THE GIFT OF GOD TO MAN, SEPARATE FROM WORKS AND THE LAW, AND IS MADE OPERATIVE BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST, PRODUCING WORKS ACCEPTABLE TO GOD (EPH. 2:8&9).

WE BELIEVE... ETERNAL LIFE AND THE NEW BIRTH- MAN’S FIRST STEP TOWARD SALVATION IS GODLY SORROW THAT WORKETH REPENTANCE. THE NEW BIRTH IS NECESSARY TO ALL MEN AND WHEN EXPERIENCED PRODUCES ETERNAL LIFE

(2 COR. 5:17; 2 COR. 7:10; I JOHN 5:12; JOHN 3:3-5)

WE BELIEVE... WATER BAPTISM- BAPTISM IN WATER IS BY IMMERSION, IS A DIRECT COMMANDMENT OF OUR LORD, AND IS FOR BELIEVERS ONLY. THE ORDINANCE IS A SYMBOL OF THE CHRISTIAN’S IDENTIFICATION WITH CHRIST IN HIS DEATH, BURIAL, AND RESURRECTION (ACTS 8:36-39; MATT. 28:19; ROM. 6:4 ; COL. 2:12).

THE FOLLOWING RECOMMENDATION REGARDING THE WATER BAPTISMAL FORMULA IS ADOPTED,: “ON THE CONFESSION OF YOUR FAITH IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD, AND BY HIS AUTHORITY, I BAPTIZE YOU IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, AND THE SON, AND THE HOLY GHOST , AMEN.”

WE BELIEVE... BAPTISM IN THE HOLY GHOST- THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY GHOST AND FIRE IS A GIFT FROM GOD AS PROMISED BY THE LORD JESUS CHRIST TO ALL BELIEVERS IN THIS DISPENSATION AND IS RECEIVED SUBSEQUENT TO THE NEW BIRTH. THIS EXPERIENCE IS ACCOMPANIED BY THE INITIAL EVIDENCE OF SPEAKING IN OTHER TONGUES AS THE HOLY SPIRIT HIMSELF GIVES UTTERANCE

(MATT. 3:11; JOHN 14:16,17 ; ACTS 1:8 ; ACTS 2:38,39 ; ACTS 19:1-7 ; ACTS 2:4).

WE BELIEVE... SANCTIFICATION- THE BIBLE TEACHES THAT WITHOUT HOLINESS NO MAN CAN SEE THE LORD. WE BELIEVE IN THE DOCTRINE OF SANCTIFICATION AS A DEFINITE YET PROGRESSIVE WORK OF GRACE, COMMENCING AT THE TIME OF REGENERATION AND

CONTINUING UNTIL THE CONSUMMATION OF SALVATION AT CHRIST’S RETURN

(HEB. 12:14; I     THESS. 5:23 ; 2 PETER 3:18 ; 2 COR. 3:18 ; PHIL. 3:12-14; I COR. 1:30).

WE BELIEVE... DIVINE HEALING- HEALING IS FOR THE PHYSICAL ILLS OF THE HUMAN BODY AND IS WROUGHT BY THE POWER OF GOD THROUGH THE PRAYER OF FAITH AND BY THE LAYING ON OF HANDS. IT IS PROVIDED FOR IN THE ATONEMENT OF CHRIST AND IS THE PRIVILEGE OF EVERY MEMBER OF THE CHURCH TODAY

(MARK 16:18; JAMES 5:14,15 ;I PETER 2:24; MATT. 8:17 ISA. 53:4,5).

WE BELIEVE... RESURRECTION OF THE JUST AND THE RETURN OF OUR LORD- THE ANGELS SAID TO JESUS’ DISCIPLES, “... THIS SAME JESUS SHALL SO COME IN LIKE MANNER AS YE HAVE SEEN HIM GO INTO HEAVEN” (ACTS 1:11). HIS COMING IS IMMINENT. WHEN HE COMES:   “... THE DEAD IN CHRIST SHALL RISE FIRST: THEN WE WHICH ARE ALIVE AND REMAIN SHALL BE CAUGHT UP TOGETHER WITH THEM IN THE CLOUDS, TO MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR...” (I THESS. 4:16,17).

FOLLOWING THE TRIBULATION, HE SHALL RETURN TO EARTH AS KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, AND TOGETHER WITH HIS SAINTS, WHO SHALL BE KINGS AND PRIESTS, HE SHALL REIGN A THOUSAND YEARS (REV. 20:6).

WE BELIEVE... HELL AND ETERNAL RETRIBUTION- THE ONE WHO PHYSICALLY DIES IN HIS SINS WITHOUT ACCEPTING CHRIST IS HOPELESSLY AND ETERNALLY LOST IN THE LAKE OF FIRE, AND THEREFORE, HAS NO FURTHER OPPORTUNITY OF HEARING THE GOSPEL OR REPENTING. THE LAKE OF FIRE IS LITERAL. THE TERMS “ETERNAL” AND “EVERLASTING” USED IN DESCRIBING THE DURATION OF THE PUNISHMENT OF THE DAMNED IN THE LAKE OF FIRE, CARRY THE SAME THOUGHT AND MEANING OF ENDLESS EXISTENCE AS USED IN DENOTING THE DURATION OF JOY AND ECSTASY OF SAINTS IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD (HEB. 9:27 ; REV.  19:20).

WE BELIEVE... THAT “TITHING” IS A COVENANT BETWEEN GOD AND MAN MADE IN THE OLD TESTAMENT AND CONTINUED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT, STATING THAT A PERSON WILL HONOR GOD BY GIVING HIM THE FIRST TENTH OF ALL HIS INCREASE AND THAT THE TITHE BELONGS IN A PERSON’S HOME CHURCH. WE AGREE TO TEACH TITHING ON A CONTINUAL BASIS AS A NECESSARY ELEMENT IN EVERY CHRISTIAN’S LIFE, REGARDLESS OF INCOME, TO ENABLE THEM TO WALK INTO THE FULLNESS THAT GOD HAS PLANNED FOR THEM.

(PROV. 3:9-10;  MAL. 3:8-12;  1 COR. 16:2)

Your Financial Assistance is Needed to Support our Objectives!

ABA Foundation is a Non Governmental Organization registered under the laws of Uganda. ABA Foundation is not only reaching out to Uganda but also the neighboring nations. Through ABA Foundation, we are bringing hope to humanity through our charitable services and programs aimed to support the poor and other vulnerable groups.

ABA Foundation's objective is to promote the Socio-Economic Welfare of our vulnerable communities especially the disaster affected people, destitute children, Orphans, widows, widowers, elderly, refugees, disabled, People staying in Internally Displaced Camps and Poor Families affected by HIV / AIDS.

We provide them with disaster relief, material support in form of clothing, mattresses, blankets, food aid, clean water, medication, toilets, shelter among others. We offer scholastic materials to school going children such as books, pens, pencils, tuition fees, sanitary pads, shoes, school bags etc.

This is just the beginning. God has many good plans for us as we continue to grow and reach out to people in Africa with God's love and Care.

"And you Philippians yourself well know that in the early days of the Gospel ministry, when I left Macedonia, no church (assembly) entered into partnership with me and opened up (a debit and credit) account in giving and receiving except you only. For even in Thessalonian you sent (me contributions) for my needs, not only once but a second time. Not that I seek or am eager for (your) gift, but I do seek and am eager for the fruit which increases to your credit (the harvest of blessing that is accumulating to your account). But I have (your full payment) and more; I have everything I need and am amply supplied, now that I have received from Hermaphroditus the gifts you sent me. (They are the) fragrant odor of an offering and sacrifice which God welcomes and in which He delights. And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. PHILIPPIANS 4:15-19 (AMP)"

Help change a child's life today and have an impact on generations to come. That is what happens when you sponsor a child through ABA Foundation.  For those of us who sponsor a child many times we wish there was something more we could do. The most effective thing you can do beyond sponsorship and praying for the children is to actively share with your friends the outreach of ABA Foundation.  One of the easiest ways of doing that is to forward the information you receive each month to someone new who has never heard of ABA Foundation. Your influence can be used to answer the prayers of a child who will go to bed tonight praying that God will give him or her a sponsor.

Sincerely,

ABA Foundation
